Companions on the Journey
People are crying out to be heard, to have someone sit down with them, and let them know they are doing ok. To feel the pain of frustration and disappointment with someone, or to be able to celebrate the good stuff.
May death tremble to take us
I can almost imagine those final moments for Charles Bukowski. Laughing and almost daring death to take him. It would seem not even the final breaths would phase him.
‘I have a dream’ – Dr Martin Luther King Jnr.
It would appear the world, particularly with the recent ‘Black Lives Matter’ movement, has still not really come to grips with both the words of Abraham Lincoln and then of Dr Martin Luther King.
Dying of boredom?

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, DL, FRS, RA
There is no room for greatness at the time, as attributes of tenacity and principled character are critical; the hallmarks of a great leader. There was no-one else capable of achieving what Winston Churchill did; he was the man needed for the time, and rise to the challenge, he did.
Being present – a way to walk into a room
Presence has a practical purpose. It is the difference between a shy peron being engaged in conversation, or leaving wondering why they went in the first place.
Being present – a way of life
Maybe opinions need to give way to presence. By making this choice conversation may stay open as opposed to being shut down.
Being present – what does it mean?
Presence is our undivided attention, right now, as the person we are listening to, delves into the past, present and future.
What was the plan again?
It is not a matter of IF struggles will come, but WHEN. We can be ready when they do, and travel through them. It perhaps is also true, we find out what we are truly made of in these times.
Death is a NATURAL part of life
We may not be at the end as yet. and so in the meantime, every day we have is a gift, something to be treasured, someting to be lived, something we can use to be a positive difference to those around us.
